EIGHTY-THIRD CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
H.J. SPECIAL RESOLUTION NO. 2
To authorize the use of Special Task and Evaluation Command Assets towards the establishment of peace in the currently on-going Suez Canal conflict.
Whereas, on June 6th, escalating violence has erupted between Egypt and Israel over the Suez Canal; and
Whereas, on July 15, the garrison force of the United Kingdom came under siege by Egyptian forces as a direct result of the above escalating violence; and
Whereas, the United Kingdom has authorized military intervention towards the protection of its military assets; and
Whereas, the Soviet Union has announced its support for Egypt and has threatened to escalate towards military intervention; and
Whereas, such acts, if continued, poses an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States; and
Whereas, in light of the extraordinary incidence it becomes necessary for the United States to exercise its rights to self-defense and to protect American citizens and interests both at home and abroad.
Be it resolved that, by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, that –
Section 1.
The Special Task and Evaluation Command immediate performs a full disclosure to the public and the people at large, as outlined under contingency plan #2.
Section 2.
The Special Task and Evaluation Command, under the appropriate oversight and authority, deploys Iowa to the Sinai peninsula to immediately resolve the conflict by force.

Absolutely not. We resolve this matter through diplomacy. To use Iowa for this task is preposterous and frankly, un-American.
Archive this one for the ones who’ll come after us. Make them understand that the ship-girls are not to be used to bash away problems that we need to work out on our own.
